How to use it
- Assume optimal speed: 1.5 m/s
- Calculate flow: 2 L/s = 0.002 m3/s
- Calculate diameter: sqrt((4 x 0.002) / (pi x 1.5)) = 0.041m = 41mm
- Select commercial: DN40 (40mm) or DN50 (50mm) depending on length
Common mistakes
- ⚠️ Pipe undersized causing excessive pressure drop
- ⚠️ Not accounting for future expansion or peak demand
- ⚠️ Using incorrect friction loss formula for the pipe material
Worked example
Calculate pipe diameter for water service connection with 2 L/s flow over 30m.
To {caudal_lps} L/s in {length_m}m recomienda pipe of {diametro_mm}mm ({diametro_pulgadas}"). speed of the water: {velocidad_ms} m/s. Pérdida of carga: {perdida_bar} bar.
