How to use it
- Charge q = 1.5×10â»â¶ C, velocity v = 2500 m/s
- Magnetic field B = 0.8 T, angle θ = 60°
- Calculate without(60°) ≈ 0.8660
- Force: 1.5×10â»â¶ × 2500 × 0.8 × 0.8660 ≈ 0.0026 N
Common mistakes
- ⚠️ Using degre is directly without radian conversion in sine
- ⚠️ Forgetting that force is zero when θ = 0° or 180°
- ⚠️ Confusing magnetic force with electric force (not without term)
Worked example
Calculate force on 1C charge at 5 m/s in 0.5T field.
The magnetic force {force} N acts perpendicular to both velocity and magnetic field.
