Formula and Methodology

The number of tiles is then the total surface area divided by the tile area, rounded up to ensure full coverage. For the adhesive, the volume is surface area times adhesive thickness (converted to metres). The adhesive weight is volume times the adhesive yield. These calculations assume a flat, even substrate and do not account for cuts or waste – for real projects, add a waste factor of 5-10%.

Tile area = 0.6 × 0.6 = 0.36 m². Number of tiles = 20 / 0.36 ≈ 55.56, so you need 56 tiles. Adhesive volume = 20 × 0.005 = 0.1 m³. Adhesive weight = 0.1 × 1.5 = 0.15 kg?
