How to Use This Calculator
  1. Measure the length and width of the surface to be tiled in meters.
  2. Select or enter the tile/piece size.
  3. Enter the grout joint width (typical: 2–5 mm indoors, 5–10 mm outdoors).
  4. Add wastage: 10 % for diagonal layout, 5 % for straight layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Diagonal installation creates more cuts and offcuts at the edges. 10 % is the minimum recommended; for complex patterns consider up to 15 %.
It depends on the adhesive and tile size. For small tiles (< 30 × 30 cm) use 2–4 kg/m²; for large formats (60 × 60 cm or more) you need 5–8 kg/m².
For smooth interior floors, apply a 3–5 mm layer. For exterior or uneven surfaces, up to 10 mm with tile adhesive mortar.
